WINTER ACTIVITIES IN THE AURE VALLEY

The Saint-Lary ski area is the largest in the French Pyrenees and offers more than 100 km of slopes.

3 areas stand out on the estate: Saint-Lary 1700 (Pla d'Adet), Saint-Lary 1900 (Espiaube) and Saint-Lary 2400 (Vallon du Portet).

Saint-Lary 1900: Espiaube 3 mins by car

Saint-Lary 1900 “Espiaube” is an intermediate sector which starts at 1650 m. at the Espiaube car parks. It is both a transition sector since it is crossed by blue or red slopes to access the upper parts of the resort, and a rather sporty sector with very beautiful red and black slopes located for many in the forest on a north slope.

Saint-Lary 1700: Pla d'Adet 5 mins by car

Saint-Lary 1700 is also called Pla d'Adet. This is the arrival of the ski lifts from the village. This area has been designed and designed in particular to accommodate beginners, families and children.

Of course, there are ski schools, the Piou Piou club (snow garden), but also toboggan runs and snow games.

A fun track is offered there, the Kidpark served, like the school slope, by covered treadmills for the greatest comfort of children. The Echarpe green run winds its way up to the “Cabane” sector, an easy route along the snow front. This track is bordered by a boardwalk so that those accompanying you can follow the progress of the beginners. This is also the case for the school slope.

The Pla d'Adet chairlifts also allow you to gain altitude (up to 2300m at Soum de Matte, either to enjoy long walks on blue paths returning to the starting point, or to take the more technical slopes of this sector (red and black) or even to project on the following sectors, Saint-Lary 1900 then Saint-Lary 2400.

Saint-Lary 2400: Vallon du Portet

Crossing the ridge line, we discover Saint-Lary 2400 "Vallon du Portet", a real gem since this altitude sector, located above 2000m, offers both a wide range of slopes, optimal sunshine and a 360° view of the Pyrenees. We are here at the border of the National Park when we reach the lake of L'oule. There are high-altitude restaurants accessible to non-skiers, sliding areas, the Snowpark and a 3 km cross-country ski trail.
